The Team Dyess CCAF Mentorship Program launch was held today in the Education Center. There were 22 new mentors in the group, which was hosted by Ms. Kinga Saunders, Air Force CCAF Counselor, who is pictured here (left) along with Ms. Karlyn Wilken, Assoc. Campus Director at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (right). Ms. Saunders overviewed the program to the group, and Ms. Wilken discussed her real-life experiences as a mentor for airmen seeking guidance on completing requirements for their CCAF degrees and bachelor programs.

If you are interested in becoming a Team Dyess CCAF Mentor, you must have a CCAF degree or are actively pursuing higher education toward CCAF or higher level of education.

McMurry University invites all military and dependents to Military
Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 30.

ABILENE, Texas - Active duty and retired military and their dependents will be honored guests at McMurry University's football game against Texas Lutheran University at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 30, at Wilford Moore Stadium. All military members and their dependents will be admitted free with military ID as part of McMurry's Military Appreciation Day.

At halftime, Col. Brandon Parker, Dyess 7th Bomb Wing Commander, will administer the oath of enlistment for new recruits representing the Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force and National Guard.

Also, Pioneer Food Services, McMurry's food service provider, will provide free meals in the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Dining Hall from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the game for all military and dependents presenting a military ID.

Parking lots are located along the west and southern perimeters of the campus. Home side seating is available on the west side of Wilford Moore Stadium.

The Dyess Education and Training offices services include: Counseling on general education, vocational counseling, Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), college courses, distance education, online career planning for active duty, guidance counseling for Kuder Journeys Career Assessment, scholarship guidance, PME, exams, Airman Leadership School, and Air Force commissioning programs, EGI Bill and more.

Active Duty Air Force Tuition Assistance Program The Active Duty Air Force Tuition Assistance Program provides funding at 100% of tuition and fees* charged up to $250 per semester hour ($166 per quarter hour), up to $4500 per fiscal year, for any college degree higher than the member's current degree level; up through the masters degree.


 
 

PME is the foundation to advancement in a military career for enlisted and officers. PME programs are often mandatory for promotion and re-enlistment.

Commissioning

Assistance is available for the various Commissioning Programs. A Commissioning Program Briefing is held monthly. Always do your research prior to contacting the Education Center by clicking the links to the side:

The Air Force Officer Qualification Test (AFOQT) is required by the AFROTC and OTS commissioning programs. Schedule the AFOQQT at AFVEC site.

Exams at Dyess Testing Center, Bld 7235: CDC, PME, DLPT, AFCT, CLEP/DSST
Promotion/Special Tests Offered: Bld 7232 : WASP, TAPAS, AFRAT, TBAS, AFOQT, EPQT, EDPT
Career Development Course Exams (CDC EOCs) are scheduled by the unit training managers only.

Study Guides & Materials
Study guides and materials are available at the Dyess Library and online at the AF Virtual Education Center. A CLEP & DANTES examination is located at Military OneSource or on the DANTES Information Page.
