Lunch will be provided free of charge, courtesy of ERAU, so please come on out and encourage your folks to come hear Dr. Burgess.

Dr. Burgess has 36 years of aviation experience that spans military helicopter (Cav/Atk) and strike fighter flight, as well as civil aviation in helicopter and unmanned aircraft flight, all of which includes instructor ratings, certificates, and licenses. He has developed and instructed live and online courses for 20 years, at two ERAU campuses.

Scott is the current Chairman of the UAS Committee for the Helicopter Association International and is an active member, publisher, and researcher with the US Helicopter Safety Team. He consults and performs as a SME on sUAS integration for manned flight organizations, drone inspections (post-disaster/infrastructure/power transmission), flight training and standardization, SAR and ISR applications. Dr. Burgess has been with Embry-Riddle since 1999, starting at the Prescott Campus where he authored the Helicopter Flight program before moving to Texas and the Worldwide campus. Recently, Dr. Burgess completed the AUVSI TOP™ Remote Pilot Instructor certification as the third RPI in the industry.

The Dyess Education and Training offices services include: Counseling on general education, vocational counseling, Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), college courses, distance education, online career planning for active duty, guidance counseling for Kuder Journeys Career Assessment, scholarship guidance, PME, exams, Airman Leadership School, and Air Force commissioning programs, EGI Bill and more.

Active Duty Air Force Tuition Assistance Program The Active Duty Air Force Tuition Assistance Program provides funding at 100% of tuition and fees* charged up to $250 per semester hour ($166 per quarter hour), up to $4500 per fiscal year, for any college degree higher than the member's current degree level; up through the masters degree.


 
 

PME is the foundation to advancement in a military career for enlisted and officers. PME programs are often mandatory for promotion and re-enlistment.

Commissioning

Assistance is available for the various Commissioning Programs. A Commissioning Program Briefing is held monthly. Always do your research prior to contacting the Education Center by clicking the links to the side:

The Air Force Officer Qualification Test (AFOQT) is required by the AFROTC and OTS commissioning programs. Schedule the AFOQQT at AFVEC site.

Exams at Dyess Testing Center, Bld 7106: CDC, PME, DLPT, AFCT, CLEP/DSST
Promotion/Special Tests Offered: Bld 7106 : WASP, TAPAS, AFRAT, TBAS, AFOQT, EPQT, EDPT
Career Development Course Exams (CDC EOCs) are scheduled by the unit training managers only.

Study guides and materials are available at the Dyess Library and online at the AF Virtual Education Center. A CLEP & DANTES examination is located at Military OneSource or on the DANTES Information Page.
